After several years of working in the furniture industry, my parents, John and Carol Brown opened up their own venture. In 1977, Brown's Furniture opened on the square in Orrville where Ming Hing restaurant is presently located. Five years later, they moved down the street to our present location of 138 West Market Street nearly doubling the store's size. Several expansions have occurred since that initial move. In 1992, we acquired the adjoining building and in 1997, we purchased the building directly across the street and increased our dining room, bedroom and home office lines. We realized the need for a streamlined clearance area and in 2007, opened an additional 5,000 square feet of display area in the front of our warehouse on Main Street. Most recently, we purchased property for our outdoor furniture and acquired a third store front to house our full service bedding lineup. We currently have a total display area of over 50,000 square feet of quality indoor and outdoor home furnishings and bedding! 

My name is Jarrod Brown and Brown's Furniture continues to operate as a family-run business. I grew up around the store doing odd jobs and eventually delivering furniture. After completing college in 1992, I officially joined the business and my wife, Dawn, came on board a year later. Together, we have assumed the management and operations of Brown's Furniture but "family- run" is still key to our success. John still works almost every day and our four children are all currently involved in the day to day operations of our store. Our extended family includes salesman Donnie Evans and our warehouse manager and delivery and prep personnel. We couldn't do what we do without them.
